Festival of Surrey Life 2012 - a diamond jubilee event

The second Festival of Surrey Life is again taking place at the Fox Revived Pub near Horley, this year over the Diamond Jubilee weekend on Sunday June 3 and Monday June 4.
A free event featuring live music, stalls packed with small independent businesses and charities, great food and drink and more, the Festival of Surrey Life offers the perfect accompaniment to a weekend of street parties.
Sister pub to the award-winning The Jolly Farmers in Buckland, The Fox Revived brings a little frontier style to Surrey and its airy bar and huge gardens are located down a series of winding and twisting country lanes.

The sun shone down on the Festival of Surrey Life this weekend, as our royal wedding party got into full swing at the Fox Revived Pub in Charlwood.
A host of local dignitaries joined Sir Paul Beresford and our very own former ITN royal correspondent, Nicholas Owen, to cut the ribbon at the official launch before Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding captured the attention.
Glasses of Champagne and delicious full English breakfasts were liberally spread across the bunting draped tables. Ladies were dressed for the occasion. Before long the tears were flowing, swiftly followed by the offerings from the beer tent, and the flags were flying.
Over the weekend a whole host of performances took place on stage, while small independent businesses showcased their wares in the fields behind – among birds of prey, paintball, vintage cars and World Championship Apple Hurling.
With money from the raffle and programme sales going to Tadworth’s Children’s Trust, the charity's vice-president Phil Tufnell popped along to make the most of the ongoing sun on the final day.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Festival of Surrey Life, to all those whose support made it possible and to all the team at the Fox Revived whose tireless efforts made it an occasion to remember.

What's involved in World Championship Apple Hurling and does cider drinking affect your ability to participate?
