What you can expect…
Not only a beautiful new boutique hotel but a fabulous spa as well. Located on the third floor, with views over the Mercedes Benz circuit, B Spa opened earlier this year and promises the perfect balance between innovative and classical therapies.
Verdict…
This was a very luxurious experience made all the more enjoyable by the beautiful surroundings and lovely staff.

Name of Spa: UR Beautiful

What you can expect…
Up on the top floor of Boots in Kingston-upon-Thames, you will find the unexpectedly large UR Beautiful salon. This light, friendly area not only has seven treatment rooms for massage, waxing and injectables, but there is also an eight-chair hairdressing salon as well as a speciality wig studio, providing fabulous styles for necessity patients or just for fashion. In addition, manicures and pedicures are also available.
Verdict…
A beautifully quiet, friendly place where you can pop in for a quick manicure or a tension busting massage after work or while enjoying your retail therapy. Men are also very welcome, too.

Name of spa: Mary Ann Weeks at the Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa

What you can expect…
Right in the centre of Walton-on-Thames, by the impressive Heart shopping centre, is a beauty salon and spa that promises to give you ‘an experience that lingers long after you have left’. Co-owned by Mary Ann Weeks and Jo Poulter, it adheres to the Aveda philosophy so you know you are in good hands from the start.
Verdict…
I entered the salon feeling cold, windswept and tired after a very busy week. Two hours later, I left feeling relaxed, pampered and refreshed – and yes, I guess I’d got my mojo back.

What you can expect...
High on the hill in Richmond, overlooking the beautiful Thames Valley, is the distinctive, white-painted Richmond Gate Hotel. It’s a lovely location for a wedding and the adjacent Cedars Health and Leisure Club, including the Balcony Spa, is just the place to get in shape for the big day.
Verdict...
This was a unique experience and made my skin feel fabulous.

Name of spa: Clay Salon and Spa

What you can expect:
Launched at the end of December, this new hair salon and spa experience is a collaboration between beauty therapist Claire Gibson and stylist James Davis, and is quickly becoming the one-stop beauty experience. Created on the ancient clay pits of the area – hence the name – Clay offers a Zen-like feeling of calm and wellbeing. 
Verdict:
A happy, friendly place where you will emerge feeling fantastic.

What you can expect:
This is no ordinary beauty clinic – it’s a science-based beauty clinic. The owner, Cherry Woods, is a skincare expert and holistic massage therapist who has developed her signature facials using scientific skincare and advanced technologies.
Verdict:
I have never felt so completely pampered while in the knowledge that something very special was happening to my skin. Not only was I glowing when I left her clinic, my skin felt soft and, dare I say, radiant for many days.

What you can expect:
This newly refurbished club has two distinct areas: the energising health and fitness area, and the calming spa. Beautifully located, overlooking Staines football ground, it’s a great place to take family and friends.
Verdict:
This was a wonderfully relaxing and pampering experience made all the more enjoyable in the competent hands and friendly manner of my therapist Lynsay.

What you can expect:
If you can relate to the iconic Dove advertisement featuring ‘real’ women, you’ll love this spa. As soon as you walk into the cooling white reception, you’ll feel comfortable and welcome. And it’s right in the centre of Reigate, so your local one-stop beauty experience!
Verdict:
I was very impressed with the skin diagnosis, which gave me confidence, and the facial was one of the very best I have experienced leaving my skin feeling fabulous for days.

What you can expect:
In the middle of Haslemere’s pretty High Street, behind the inviting façade of the Georgian House Hotel, is the welcome venue that is Aqua Roma – an ideal retreat for those in the local area and further afield.
Verdict:
The Aqua Roma Spa is a great location for local residents for quick treatments and the spa day for friends or family is a fun and friendly experience.

What you can expect:
On a busy suburban road, the last thing you’d expect is the little piece of heaven that is Spa Fabulous. Step inside and you’ll be treated to pampering on a decadent scale!
Verdict:
We all need help to halt the ravages of time taking their toll on our skin and at Spa Fabulous all the products and treatments are designed to do just that.

What you can expect:
Deep in the heart of Surrey’s lush countryside is a 200-acre estate, in the middle of which lies Gatton Manor. A long driveway through beautiful woodlands leads to the 18th century house, which is now an elegant hotel, wedding venue, golf club and, more recently, a spa retreat.
Verdict:
For me, the massage was right up there with the best and the location was a world away from everyday stress.

What you can expect:
Follow the road of the iconic fallen telephone boxes in Kingston and you’ll find the aptly-named Treats. Established just a year ago, the hair and beauty salon is fast becoming the venue for a quick airbrush tanning, a pampering aromatherapy massage or a chic new hairstyle.
Verdict:
The difference to my complexion was very apparent – clear and soft. Quite an incentive to go back to Treats again!

Name of spa: Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa

What you can expect:
Built in 1878, this beautiful hotel was originally known as the Swiss House, probably because of the numerous pine trees in the delightful gardens. It really is a lovely spot to spend the day ... or longer.
Verdict:
The Vital Spa is a popular location for local residents but as an away-day or even for an overnight stay it has to be one of the most tranquil spots, despite being so near to the M3.

What you can expect:
Just a few short steps away from the station, Wimbledon’s newest salon and spa is the perfect sanctuary to banish stress or dehydrated skin. Here, you can take yoga or Pilates classes and get yourself a brand-new hairstyle as well. No wonder Gina Conway won the Global Salon Business Award last year for the UK entrepreneur of the year.
Verdict:
This top to toe spa and salon could be the one stop you’ll make on a regular basis – because you’re worth it!

What you can expect:
Right in the centre of Guildford, the Relaxation Rooms are perfect for a soothing massage at the end of the day or a quick facial before a night out.
Verdict:
This mini spa offers so much you'll want to pop in more than once.

What you can expect...
Just minutes from Gatwick airport, on the Surrey/Sussex borders, Felbridge is the perfect place to begin or end your holiday. The traditional exterior belies the recently refurbished contemporary interior where all the rooms are decorated in the signature chocolate and cream colour scheme.
Verdict...
I had one of the most thoroughly stress-busting and relaxing massages ever and came away with a warm glow, feeling inches taller and ever so slightly slimmer!

What you can expect...
Hidden in 22 acres of parkland on the edge of Windsor Great Park, the Jacobean style mansion that is Savill Court is the epitome of timeless elegance. Taking a spa day here means you'll not only be really pampered but as part of the spa package you'll also have a beautiful en suite room for the day. Such luxury!
Verdict...
The Choco Therapy is such a unique experience and the use of your own room is particularly enjoyable - you feel as if you have been there for so much longer than a day.

Name of spa: Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa

What you can expect:
Right in the heart of the Surrey countryside, this is a little gem. The hotel is steeped in history that dates back to the 15th century, but now it couldn't be more up to date with stunning bedrooms, a recently refurbished restaurant and a purpose-built spa, all surrounded by 22 acres of countryside and a wealth of wildlife.

Verdict:
Possibly one of the prettiest pampering locations I've visited, and it makes you feel as though you've left all the stresses of life behind.

Name of spa: Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa

What you can expect:
This is a little bit of old England set high on a green Surrey hillside. The spa is adjacent to the hotel and has all the peace and tranquillity of a bygone age.
Verdict:
A lovely experience, right on the doorstep, that's incredibly pampering and relaxing.

What you can expect:
Situated on the banks of the River Thames, just a stone's throw from historic Runnymede, this is probably one of the more scenic locations for a spa. Here, you can enjoy a lovely riverside walk as well as fabulous treatments.

Verdict:
My facial was the best. The many cleansing and moisturising creams together with the soothing eye lotion left my skin looking so clear and smooth, and my eyes so fresh and sparkling, that I happily went home free of make-up and feeling years younger.

What you can expect:
Just a stone's throw from the M25 is a country estate of some 400 acres at the heart of which stands a beautiful 19th century manor house. It's a hotel, a country club and a family haven surrounded by some of Surrey's loveliest countryside. And this month sees the opening of the retreat's new luxury health spa, gym and indoor pool complex.
Verdict:
Everyone from the doorman to the MD, Marc Hayton, and the therapists to the waitresses, make you feel so welcome. And, the location really is country heaven.

Name of spa: Addington Palace Country Club

What you can expect:
Take the long driveway past the golf course and you'll reach the lovely and historic palace set in 163 acres of beautiful grounds. Henry VIII chased deer and Anne Boleyn here and six Archbishops of Canterbury used it as a refuge.
Verdict:
I felt really refreshed when I left, as if I had spent much longer than a day at Addington Palace - and the staff are so friendly, which added to the pleasure.

What you can expect:
The rural village of Kingswood, with its views across fields, is the last place you'd expect to find a beauty salon, let alone one that offers anti-wrinkle injections! But here in the reassuring tranquil surroundings, you can pop in for anything from a quick pedicure to Botox!
Verdict:
I've had so many compliments on how well I look, and so relaxed, I can only assume it's because my face looks fresher now that the annoying wrinkles have been softened. I'm so pleased I'll just have to go back for more treatments!

What you can expect:
From the moment you enter the turreted buildings that make up the spa, you're in a world of luxury. Built just four years ago, in the grounds of Pennyhill Park Hotel, the spa offers a tranquil retreat of five star treatments that are hard to beat.
Verdict:
This really is a little bit of heaven right in the middle of Surrey. Surrounded by so much luxury and pampering you can't fail to enjoy. A day really isn't long enough!

As soon as you turn into the drive at Grayshott and glimpse the beautiful manor house - once the country seat of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, with its surrounding 47 acres of beautiful lawns, shrubberies and woods - you know you're in for a special experience.
Verdict:
A very special experience that offers so much more than just treatments.

What you can expect:
From the bustling heart of Kingston, where better to retreat than this blissful spa? Conveniently located at the top of the escalators on the third floor of Bentalls, it's a relaxing world apart where you can indulge in day-long pampering. Alternatively, nip in for a 60-minute facial that will leave you glowing or a spa pedicure to ease your aching feet.
Verdict:
A not to-be-missed, special experience that left me wanting to return for regular massages and facials.

What you can expect:
If you've ever visited one of Champneys' resorts, you're in for a treat as their new spa in the heart of Guildford is a mini replica. And the good news is that the treatments are all at high street prices, so you can pop in for a lunchtime repair to your manicure or de-stress for an hour before going home.
Verdict:
A lovely beauty and massage treatment, which was only slightly spoiled by the outside noises that infiltrated the treatment room.
